18/06/2019 – On Monday night, 24 June at 19:30, Rauha (2018) will have its world première. Soprano Hanna van Rooijen will sing the solo part. The premiere of Rauha will be part of a concert in which Robert Schumann’s cello concerto will also be played by soloist Floor Bakker, as well as a newly written concerto for alto saxophone and orchestra, titled Concert Secret, in which Nuno Silva will be the soloist. The saxophone concerto is written by composer-conductor Ximo Tarín-Micó. The orchestra will consist of students studying at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts and Master of Music, both at Fontys, Tilburg. The orchestra will be supplemented by friends and colleagues of the organisers of the concert: Floor, Nuno, Ximo and Xavier. Ximo will be the conductor of the orchestra.
Rauha will be played first, followed by Schumann’s cello concerto. The concert will close with Ximo’s Concert Secret.
