19/02/2020 – On 10 May, Dutch harpist Gwyneth Wentink will play an arrangement of Terry Riley’s tenth movement of The Harp of New Albion, subtitled Land’s End, written by Xavier.
Terry Riley recorded a series of improvised music in 1986 on a piano in pythagorean tuning, of which a manuscript does not exist. However, by employing the existing recording, Xavier created a manuscript for Gwyneth, who will play the work on a similarly tuned triple harp.
During the Dutch Harp Festival, held 9-10 May in Tivoli Vredenburg, Utrecht, this brand new arrangement will have its first performance. The exact location and time slot of the premiere will be shown on the website well in advance.
