From October 4 to 7, Xavier participated in the 26th CHIME (Chinese Music in Europe) conference focusing on sustainability. CHIME, a European foundation for Chinese music research, convenes twice annually and every meeting is held at a different location in Europe and China. CHIME26 took part in Hildesheim and Hannover in Germany.

Alongside Fan Chen (范晨) (University of Strasbourg) and Zhou Shaocong (周少聪) (Shanghai Conservatory of Music), Xavier presented research on language and Chinese music, focussing specifically on the usage of Mandarin by Dutch composers, the content of which overlaps with his Ph.D. thesis.
